WPP Media Leads Industry in H1 2026 New Business Wins and Retentions in latest COMvergence New Business Rankings
WPP Media recorded the industry’s largest combined volume of billings from new client wins and account retentions in the first half of 2026, according to COMvergence’s H1 2026 Media Agency New Business Barometer, released this week.
COMvergence’s analysis of H1 new business trends recorded WPP Media as having secured $5.2 billion in combined incremental and retained billings during the first half of the year, the highest total among all major media groups. Successful account retentions were central to the company's industry leading performance, making up nearly 40% of wins attributed to WPP Media - nearly $600M ahead of the company’s nearest competitor.
Regionally, WPP Media ranked first in COMvergence’s analysis among all companies in total Net New Business Value (which accounts for Wins, Retentions, and Losses) in APAC, and a top 3 player in nearly 75% of international markets assessed in the report. The report ranked WPP Media #1 in global markets, including Australia, China, and the United Kingdom.
COMvergence’s findings underscore the strength of WPP Media’s momentum in the marketplace following its relaunch as an integrated, AI-powered media company in 2025 with new leadership and a vision for the future of media enabled by WPP Open and Open Intelligence. Key wins reflected in COMvergence's H1 analysis include Estee Lauder, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Just Eat Takeaway, Natura, Skechers, and Waymo, as well as SC Johnson and Wendy's in the US, among others.
