Police Scotland Appoint WPP Media for Media Planning and Buying
Police Scotland has appointed WPP Media’s EssenceMediacom to provide media planning and buying services for public information and behaviour change campaigns.
The agency will work with Police Scotland’s Corporate Communications team on campaigns addressing priority public safety issues, including violence against women and girls, domestic abuse, online child sexual exploitation, road safety and public confidence.
The appointment follows a competitive procurement process and is designed to strengthen the way policing priorities are communicated to the public.
Drawing on WPP Media’s Edinburgh-based team, the agency will support Police Scotland with media planning and buying, audience insight and campaign effectiveness, helping to deliver targeted campaigns that reach people clearly and drive measurable outcomes across Scotland.
Linda McLean, Head of Communications Specialist Services at Police Scotland said: "Public communication plays a vital role in supporting policing priorities and engaging communities across Scotland. Following a competitive procurement process, the EssenceMediacom team demonstrated strong experience in behaviour change communications, audience insight and media planning, and we look forward to working together to deliver effective campaigns over the coming years."
Natalie Cummins, WPP Media UK President said: "We're incredibly proud to have been selected by Police Scotland for this important work. These are campaigns that need to be grounded in the realities of people's lives, the communities they are part of and the issues that matter locally. Our Edinburgh team brings a deep understanding of Scottish audiences, and we look forward to working in close partnership with Police Scotland to deliver communications that are relevant, responsible and useful to the public.”
